Bob Blackman CBE MP Secures £4.8 million for SEND Students in Harrow
Last January, Bob Blackman MP CBE launched his campaign to secure more funding for Special Educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Students in his constituency, Harrow East.
Previously Bob had secured millions of pounds of extra funding for our local schools, including the rebuild of the Sacred Heart Language College and upgrades at Stanmore School, but had now outlined his plan's to gain extra funds for SEND students in Harrow.
After hearing constituents concerns that SEND places had been fully allocated in Harrow, Bob launched his petition to allow residents in Harrow to voice their concerns and support the campaign.
The petition gained traction and led to a meeting with the Education Secretary, Gillian Keegan, along with fellow Harrow MP David Simmonds. After positive and productive talks, it has now been announced that Harrow will receive an additional £4.8 million of funding for SEND Students.
Reacting to the news Bob Blackman stated:
"We've been working on this for many months, and it is extremely good news for all the schools in Harrow that will benefit from this extra funding."
