As chairman for the APPG for Smoking and Health since 2015, Bob has long campaigned for the UK to become Smoke Free protect young people. Initially, Bob campaigned for the implementation of plain packaging on tobacco products in 2012. More recently, he handed in Cancer Research UK's petition to ban smoking to Downing Street. He strongly support the action taken by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to ban smoking.
